Denholm Fishselling is a subsidiary of J. & J. Denholm Limited, which is still owned by the descendants of one of the founding brothers, John Denholm.
At the start of the 1980s, shipping company J. & J. Denholm initiated a programme of diversification into complementary industries. The diversification was to prove transformative and was the basis of the structure of the four divisions of the Denholm Group today: Shipping, Logistics, Seafoods and Industrial Services.
In 1986, J. & J. Denholm acquired the seafoods businesses of transportation company Christian Salvesen, who, after its own strategic review, had regarded them as non-core. One of these businesses was fishselling and, with offices around Scotland and Northern Ireland, this was the origins of what is now Denholm Fishselling.
Originally, the main service provided was selling the catch, hence the name ‘fishselling’. Today, Denholm Fishselling offers a wide range of services to the boats and skippers it represents, allowing them to focus on landing a quality catch.
